Kataeb Batroun District held a poetic evening animated by the head of Zajal Poets Syndicate in Lebanon Poet Georges Bou Antoine at the District’s headquarters.
At the end, the poet was honored in the presence of the Lebanese Kataeb Party Deputy Secretary General Wa;lide Fares, member of the politburo comrade Georges Chahine, the head of the administrative and organizational affairs council Mounir Dik, the head of the Public Sector Service Youssef Joan, the head of Women Affairs Service Rachel Merheb, the head of the Martyrs Service Chaouki El Ferekh, the head of the Environment Service Tony Gerges, the head of Kataeb Batroun District Joseph Challita, the district’s Vice Presidents Antoine Qahwaji and Antoine El Ghabour, the District’s Secretary Lawyer Baz Gergez, the members of the district’s Executive Committee and the heads of the district’s bureaus and divisions.
It was attended as well by the head of Jbeil District Lawyer Rafiq Feghaly, the head of Kour Municipality Lahoud Lahoud and a huge number of Kataeb members and students.
The poetic evening started with the Lebanese National Anthem and the head of Kataeb Batroun District’s Media Bureau Juliette Sarkis introduced Poet Bou Antoine and pointed out to the great importance of Zajal Poetry because it genuinely presents the Lebanese and Christian heritage.
Then, Poet Bou Antoine read some of his poems. As for the Deputy Secretary General Walid Fares, he delivered an address in which he saluted the attendants on behalf of President Amin Gemayel and stressed that it is important to hold poetic evening and cultural meetings as part of the Party’s activities.
Comrades Challita and Fares gave recognition shield to Georges Bou Antoine who signed his two books of poetry “Awraq El Omr” and “Tani Khamsin”.
